Built For Buffalo: Andy Rose Joins dPost as VP, Brand Development

dPost, an award-winning video production company based in Buffalo NY, is adding some creative + strategic firepower with the addition of Rochester native, New York Film Academy alum + Bills fan Andy Rose as its new Vice President, Brand Development.

Rose, a veteran Creative Director + Consultant with nearly 20 years of global experience in the Advertising & Technology fields has an impressive catalog of work; leading global creative for brands such as Alibaba™, BMW™, Magna-Tiles™, Rakuten™ and Xerox™. With a portfolio decorated by multiple ‘Best-in-Show’ and ‘Best of Digital / Social’ awards, Rose’s hit-list includes everything from guerilla campaigns to mobile games and interactive/playable music fest posters, some of which were pro-bono efforts largely because, as he opined, “it feels good to do good.” Rose often calls back on his early days working as a creative at Apple during the Steve Jobs era or even further back to his NYFA roots for inspiration in brand positioning or storytelling, citing classic campaigns like “Think Different” that spoke to him early on. Having led work at shops between New York, LA and Rochester, Rose brings a well-rounded perspective to his new role at dPost (and some killer Buffalo wing recipes). Along with that love of WNY food, Andy has a deep passion for developing thoughtfully-branded experiences in a connected world that drive business growth, ROAS and of course, customer loyalty. In his new role as VP at dPost, Rose will lead internal brand development and help to manage the company’s diverse relationships with a strategic vision that re-racks expectations for modern content creation in a radically different landscape post-pandemic.

Hot off their own brand refresh (led by Rose), dPost hopes to accelerate its evolution into a modern content juggernaut. Their primary goal is to help brands & storytellers ‘do stuff that sticks’ by crafting more memorable experiences from social-to-cinema, and they’re ready to continue pushing boundaries by further exploring the Virtual Production + Gaming spaces for storytelling opportunities. “The most effective way to reach people is through their emotions. We want to make sure that audiences feel something long after they’ve experienced it, and we’re excited about where emergent tech may lead us in those pursuits,” Rose told us from his home-office as he packs up to shuffle off to Buffalo with his wife (and 3 fur-children).

While dPost offers top-shelf creative solutions to help brands stand out, they also bring a fun, ego-free approach to every project they work on, which is clearly a point of pride (along with their NY State Business Ethics Award). “We’ve been acknowledged across numerous shows with hundreds of awards, dozens of ‘Best in Shows’, an Emmy for a Documentary, and really, it’s not a big deal,” Rose says. “Those are just a byproduct of doing work we love with people we like (or vice versa).”

While he may be new to the 716 area code & dPost, Andy Rose already feels right at home, with big plans to continue doing ‘stuff that sticks’ for as long as Buffalo will let him.
