Rapper/Entrepreneur Yung Brezzy Is Breaking Barriers in the World of Entertainment

At a young age, Yung Brezzy realized that his life would revolve around rap and hip-hop. Cedric Rush, famously known as Yung Brezzy, was born in Montgomery, Alabama. Even in the past, Yung Brezzy already displayed an interest in music. He immersed himself in the works of famous musicians like 2Pac, LL Cool J, and Dr. Dre. His life changed one day when he attended a class where he developed his love for hip-hop. A song by Pastor Troy State, played on the radio during the final hours of class, caught his attention. He started to flow to the song with his own lyrics.

Unfortunately, he forced his creativity to the side when he was too young to express himself without encouragement. Brezzy attended Southside High School, where he continued to play sports and to indulge in his music. He would clown around with other teammates during football practice about wanting to be a rap star. In those years, he tended to focus more on his schoolwork and athletics, not taking his rap talent seriously. It was not until after one afternoon of football practice that he felt the desire to show off his talent when he heard other players spitting rhymes. For that flow, he became known around the school.

Yung Brezzy temporarily put his passion for music on hold and joined the Marines, expecting a better life ahead. On his sixth month of service, he decided to return home for a visit, and that turned his life upside down. He experienced a brutal car accident that almost took away his life. Yung Brezzy suffered numerous life-threatening injuries. But his courage and will helped him to recover fully.

In 2009, Brezzy released a song entitled “One Life to Live,” which was inspired by his dramatic loss. The piece showed a glimpse of the car accident he experienced and the loss of his loved one.

His broken heart and lack of faith transformed into his suffering, and that led him to music and writing songs. He composed other songs such as “Try Something Different” and “Wake Up.” These songs explored the actions of the world and how life should be seen as fleeting and too short to pass up. Because of its impact to younger people, Yung Brezzy’s “Try Something Different” was used in local high schools where he performed during different causes, such as Breast Cancer Awareness and Drug Free Awareness.

Yung Brezzy is also a committed member of the Alabama Local Schools Breast Cancer Awareness and Drug Free Awareness Network. He is also a participant in New Orleans, Louisiana’s United Saints Recovery Initiative. He is very dedicated and committed to restoring an annual return to school givebacks and toy drives to the city.

His hard work and consistency in the world of entertainment helped Yung Brezzy to reach the number 24 spot on the Billboard charts. This achievement led him to be hand-picked as the headliner performer in Selma, Alabama for President Barack Obama for the 50th anniversary speech.

Yung Brezzy’s life experiences taught him not only to love life more but also to love music. Now, he received assistance from a major record label, A&R from Def Jam Recordings, on his forthcoming album, set to release in early 2021.

He has also been interviewed by top local radio stations in Atlanta such as Streetz 94.5 and Hot107.9 for his hard work and his significant accomplishments at his young age.
