This non-profit community organization is specifically tailored to playing baseball the right way by integrating components of leadership, attitude, and behaviors.

North Bay, Ontario – July 31, 2020 – It can be argued that there is nobody better suited to have launched “ignite Change” than Devon Teeple. After all, his resume reads like a Who’s Who in the Baseball arena. Since 2001, Devon has been a professional player, baseball operations executive, and a valued voice to online sites dedicated to the game. With both business acumen and exhaustive baseball insights, he understands the game behind the game: from player stats to the marketing and operations that help franchises and organizations thrive.

This unique Non-Profit Organization was launched to make a change in people’s lives, and it is well on the way to doing so for many folks. “ignite Change” was specifically tailored to playing baseball the right way by integrating components of leadership, attitude, and behaviors. Devon will run clinics that not only educate, but also provide building blocks for amateur, collegiate, and professional athletes (pre/post-retirement) who are struggling with mental health issues to grow and turn the experience into something positive.

During a recent interview, Devon made these comments, “ignite CHANGE is a passion project to help people maximize their full potential, but also with a philanthropic feel to it. Sports has been the constant with teamwork and the belonging piece always being a calming voice. To be able to give back to the community via the game that has provided me so much is a blessing. I want to really dig into the research on sports leadership and the positive impact it has on people, specifically athletes who are dealing with mental health issues like anxiety and depression.”

He goes on to say, “Baseball has been a huge part of my life. The game provides extreme highs and lows and has taught me to be humble. Since the conclusion of my professional baseball career, I have participated in multiple internship and volunteer positions and have founded The GM’s Perspective and newly created ignite CHANGE as an outlet to help others.”

Devon is also the Founder and Executive Director of TheGMsPerspective.com, a site dedicated to the business and operations side of baseball at all levels (MLB, Minor, and Independent Leagues) in Canada, the US and wherever the game is played. This site receives in excess of 160,000 hits per month. Devon can contribute to any area within an organization – improving operations, working with player personnel, strengthening administration, contributing to marketing, and ensuring service excellence.

He has evolved TheGMsPerspective.com into a respected portal for building community among athletes and leaders in sports. Since 2010, Devon has between involved with no less than 12 community organizations.

Helping people has become part of his psyche. In 2020, Devon began his quest to become a Doctor of Education – EdD – Organizational Leadership Studies at Northeastern University. With both business acumen and exhaustive baseball insights, he understands the game behind the game… from player stats to the marketing and operations that help franchises and organizations thrive.
